Our 5-Week Total Beginners Wheel Course at Brick Kiln Pottery is the perfect introduction to throwing on the wheel, with no experience needed.
You’ll learn the fundamentals of wheel-throwing, including centring, pulling up clay, and creating simple forms such as bowls and cylinders. As the course progresses, you’ll also be introduced to trimming and basic glazing techniques.
With small groups and step-by-step guidance, you’ll build confidence at your own pace in a relaxed, supportive studio environment, leaving with a selection of finished pieces and solid foundational skills.

5 Week 'Improvers' Throwing Course
Our 5-Week Improvers Wheel Course at Brick Kiln Pottery is ideal for those with some experience who want to build confidence and refine their throwing skills.
You’ll work on more challenging forms such as taller pots, lidded vessels, and narrow-neck pieces, while improving control, consistency, trimming, and finishing techniques.
With small groups and expert guidance, you’ll receive plenty of hands-on support and leave with a finished collection of work and stronger wheel-throwing skills to take forward.

Intensive 3 day course - Wheel throwing & hand building
NEW! Join us for a 3-day pottery intensive at Brick Kiln Pottery.
This hands-on course is perfect for beginners and improvers alike, with expert tuition in both wheel throwing and hand-building. You’ll learn how to centre clay, shape and trim on the wheel, build by hand using pinch, coil, and slab techniques, and glaze your work on the final day. Small groups for plenty of individual attention.
All materials, tools, and firings are included.
