Ready to take your pottery skills to the next level? Our 5-week Improvers Wheel Course is perfect for those with some experience who want to refine their technique and tackle more challenging forms.
Over the course, you’ll work on taller pots, lidded vessels, and elegant narrow-neck vases, while improving consistency, control, and confidence on the wheel. You’ll also develop your trimming and finishing skills and explore glazing techniques to bring your pieces to life.
Small, supportive groups and expert tuition ensure plenty of hands-on practice and personalised guidance. By the end of the course, you’ll leave with a collection of work you’re proud of and skills you can continue to build on.

Week 1 – Building Height & Consistency
Refresh your core wheel skills and focus on throwing taller forms with even walls. Perfect for improving control and confidence.
Week 2 – Lidded Pots
Learn to create lidded vessels with well-fitting lids, galleries, and smooth finishing techniques.
Week 3 – Narrow Neck Vases
Master collaring in and shaping narrow-necked vases, refining proportions and curves for elegant results.
Week 4 – Trimming & Finishing
Develop your trimming skills, perfect foot rings, refine forms, and practice handles or simple attachments.
Week 5 – Glazing & Finishing Touches
Explore glazing techniques and finishes to bring your work to life. Learn to apply glazes thoughtfully for stunning results.
