For thousands of years, willow has been harvested as a sustainable, versatile and beautiful natural resource.
With the aim of sharing the relaxing and creative nature of willow weaving, Jane holds workshops for beginners and frequent ‘returners’ to make a variety of practical and decorative items for the home and garden.

Please note: Finger strength and dexterity are required for any of the willow weaving workshops

Christmas Decorations Workshop - Stars

Join us for a delightfully relaxed willow weaving class where you will create stunning and elegant Christmas decorations. Over the course of three and a half enjoyable hours, you will craft festive stars, either one large or a couple of smaller ones, with the expert guidance of our skilled instructors. No prior experience is necessary. There will be the option to use a looser weave to be able to add fairy lights or greenery to your stars.

£50pp. Only 6 people per class. Age 18+

Beginners Basket Workshop

Learn to weave a base, the siding and a simple border to create a small basket to hold eggs, pegs or a plant (not for the shopping!) No previous experience needed, but a good degree of finger dexterity and hand strength is required for all day weaving!

Experience the timeless art of willow basket weaving, where ancient techniques unite with modern craftsmanship. Create beautiful, sustainable baskets that reflect resilience and tradition. £75pp. Only 5 people per class. Age 18+

Bird Feeder / Kitchen Keeper Workshop

In this workshop you will learn some of the basic skills and terms used in basketry, to create a narrow hanging basket which can hang in the garden filled with fat balls to feed the birds, or in the kitchen to hold shallots, garlic bulbs, sprigs of dried flowers, or even fairy lights!

No need for prior experience, but some degree of hand and finger strength and dexterity is required for any willow weaving.

All tools and materials provided.

£45pp. Only 8 people per class. Age 18+
